The Young Writer’s Workshop presents…

Crazy Writing Month

NaNoWriMo may no longer be around.

But you can still make serious progress on your book this Fall.

Dates: October 1 – 31

Struggling to Finish Writing Projects?

If you have that novel you’ve been slowly working on for ages but just haven’t finished yet…

Or if you’re looking for something to motivate you to get a lot more done with your writing this Fall (without running into the holidays)…

Then why not join us for Crazy Writing Month?

The premise is simple: We want to help you write 30,000 words in roughly 30 days.

What We Provide:

A moderated community of fellow writers who compete in teams to see who can write the most

Twice-a-week Office Hours with published authors who will answer student writing questions and keep you moving forward

A forum where you can ask published authors any questions you have (and be guaranteed a response from one of them!)

Daily writing lessons that will help you keep moving forward

Ready to Finally Finish That Writing Project this October?

FAQ

Do I have to be a teenager to join?

Crazy Writing Month is geared for teen writers, but anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 is welcome to participate!

Do I have to write 30,000 words in order to participate?

Not at all! While we’re encouraging that as a good benchmark to hit, participants are welcome to set their own goals, whether those are higher or lower than 30,000 words.

Which authors will be participating in this event?

While each author will be involved in different ways, you’ll be able to learn from:

  • Brett Harris, bestselling author of Do Hard Things
  • Anna Rose Johnson, author of The Star that Always Stays (one of NPR’s Best Books of 2022)
  • Kara Swanson, Christy award-winning author of Dust and Ignite
  • Millie Florence, author of Beyond Mulberry Glen and The Balter of Ashton Harper
  • Jaquelle Ferris, bestselling author of This Changes Everything
  • Josiah DeGraaf, author of A Study of Shattered Spells
  • Rachel Scheller, author of Extension Squad
How is this different from Crazy Writing Week?

Crazy Writing Week is a weeklong intensive program we run every January that also focuses on helping teens write a lot in a short period of time. Crazy Writing Month, however, is designed to help teens develop more long-term writing habits while accomplishing larger word count goals. It also offers new features like bi-weekly Office Hours with instructors.

Will this be free?

Participation in Crazy Writing Month is free for Young Writer’s Workshop students. For non-students, there will be a small TBD fee to participate and get the personal writing support, guidance, and community we offer.
